Batteries are an item that can randomly spawn in any room, with the only exceptions being at door A-0, A-100 and A-1000. It is used to power the Flashlight, the Scanner, the Gluttony charm and the Gummy Flashlight dispenser, all requiring 2, 4, 6 and 10 batteries respectively.
If you use a checkpoint the game will always give you 1-8 batteries.
There is a counter on the bottom-left corner of the screen that displays the number of batteries you have. If you have none, the counter will be invisible. If you're on mobile, the counter will instead be on the top-right corner of the screen.
In multiplayer, when a player picks up a battery, a speech bubble will pop up over their head, signaling others to collect it. The speech bubbles are: “Battery Here!”, “Spare Battery!”, “Found a Battery!”, “Take this battery!”, “There's a battery here!”.
Batteries have a higher chance of spawning before A-20.
If you sprint and pick up a Battery, you will snatch the battery, skipping the animation, forcing your camera forward and draining 15 stamina.
This, combined with a very low stamina and health, can result in a death by battery. (Most easily done with wrath).
- It will show the death screen of the previous entity you took damage from and if you didn't, it will skip it altogether.
A battery with a black body and an orange tip, similar to a Duracell battery.
Strategy & Tips/Battery locations[]
Look on top of tables, on the floor, on shelves and behind plants and doors.
Using the Gluttony charm will indicate that the room you're in has a battery by making the sign orange.
The Scanner allows you to see where a battery is by highlighting it with a bright green glow.

Trivia[]
- Batteries have a higher likelihood of spawning in rooms before A-20.
- Players have a chance of collecting more than 7 batteries before A-20.
- In A-100, players are able to power a machine in said room. The machine dispenses a Gummy Flashlight for the player, assuming they inserted 10 batteries into it.
- You can use the speech bubble that pops up whenever a player collects a battery to your advantage, especially when you're in dire need of them.
- While using the Desire charm, you automatically gain one battery for every 10 rooms without having to pick one up. This is useful if you have trouble finding batteries.
- Using the Patience Charm, if you parry an entity while having max stamina (200 with said charm), you get a battery. Use this to your advantage before door A-100, as you can get a significant number of easy batteries.
- Before A-20, there is a small chance that 2 batteries can spawn in a single room.
- If you are wearing the Battery UGC, the Vanity Charm perk will make you start every run with a singular battery.
- Batteries can spawn in room A-999; the proof is in the gallery.
Bugs[]
- Currently, many people reported that when picking up a battery, there's a small chance that they will die instantly. It's currently unknown how this happens.
