Charms are items/abilities that affect gameplay in some way. Currently, there are a total 8 charms (9 if counting None).
The charms are obtained by different methods, and also provide different abilities. These methods (also called Rites) and abilities are related to the names of the charms. You can view all of your currently obtained charms in the Charms sub-menu found in the Playtest menu. Each charm has a different color that also affects your cursor's color in game. You can only activate one charm in a run.
Alpha runs refer to runs that start at the beginning. This means you have to start from A-0 if a charm requires you to do an Alpha run.
Important: Rite is the requirement of obtaining a Charm, and Charm is the actual ability that can be equipped. Rites can be completed infinitely, even when the achiever already has the charm.

Tips[]
- In multiplayer Alpha-run servers, it may be useful to equip the Pride charm, as it increases the number of hiding spots for you as well as provide lockers for the others, ensuring their safety.
- The Charm of Envy may not be very useful for professional players that are playing in multiplayer Alpha-run servers as most of the new players often perish before reaching A-100, making it a waste of health boosts. It may still be useful for conversing with the dead.
- A really safe method for unlocking the Pride charm is standing in a safe spot and waiting for A-60 and A-60' to open all of the doors for you until Void nearly kills you, then finding another safe spot and repeating the cycle.
- An easy strategy to unlock Gluttony is to bring a friend who already has Gluttony and have them point out rooms that have batteries in them. Either that or have someone that has the scanner point out the batteries or use the scanner yourself if you have it.
- Gluttony's healing ability can still be used with the Gummy Flashlight.
- Wrath is great for healing due to the fact that stamina regenerates a lot faster than health, which allows you to heal off your injuries quicker. This can be good for Pnevma and Kalypto.
- Greed can be good for A-120, A-200, and A-200' because it allows you to see lockers occupied by Shell.
- Gluttony’s ability would be great for if you hid too late, because you could just heal it off instantly, although make sure you manage your batteries correctly if you are using the Flashlight or the NVCS-3000.
- Patience can be good for people who don’t know how to time your hides, because when you click the locker, you’re safe. This is very useful for doing clutches on hostile entities like A-60, A-60', A-120, A-200 and A-200', especially A-200, as it cannot insta-kill you if you are in the locker animation. (maybe includes table animation as well)
- When attempting to obtain the Sloth charm, it is necessary that you do not counter Pnevmas with the locker, as that requires you to press the sprint button to get rid of them, which will be counted against your run, making you not receive the Sloth charm if you killed them.
- Gluttony’s healing ability slightly illuminates the surrounding area.
- Sloth can be good for hearing A-60 easier while you are walking.
- For getting Patience, get the Pride charm and use tables instead of lockers for The Multi Monster and The Multi Monster Prime, and make sure to use lockers for Insidæ, Happy Scribble, and Insidæ'.
- Greed is a very good choice to get Wrath, as A-40 deals a bit of damage and it might randomly ruin your run.
Trivia[]
- Desire used to have a con of taking a battery costing 15% stamina and used to have a pro that made it so the moment you click the locker, you're safe from danger. The locker safety was moved to Sloth and eventually Patience, and Sloth's old ability, which made opening doors via slamming take no stamina, was moved to Desire, as it didn't make sense. The con of losing stamina taking a battery was removed.
- When Gluttony charm was first added, it used to require 10 batteries to heal. This was changed to 8 batteries shortly after.
- However, with the new "Table Rework" update, it requires 6 batteries.
- Wrath or Gluttony could be considered the hardest charms, as Wrath requires patience and luck with getting 3 Pnevma's, and Gluttony requires you to get all the batteries between A-1 and A-100.
- Wrath's ability used to be 50% max health and 200% max stamina but was changed only a few days after due to it being unbalanced.
- This makes Wrath the first charm to receive any major changes.
- Sloth used to have the ability, to be instantly save in a Locker even during the animation, this got moved to Patience.
