Not to be confused with the similar looking A-200 (Insidæ) or its prime variant Insidæ Prime/(A-200).

Appearance

Happy Scribble takes the appearance of a glitchy, semi-transparent crudely drawn smiley face. Its eyes slowly spin, it rapidly flickers, and it stretches every time it plays one of its metal bangs. One of its eyes appear to have a crack on them, appearing as a damaged eye. It also seems to have a light blue-ish glow coming out of it.

Mechanics

When Happy Scribble spawns, it emits loud banging noises along with static varying in pitch and volume. This means that it will attack soon, and players will have to find a hiding spot. When it attacks, it will move towards anybody who is alive (including hiding players) before moving into a previous room. It may rebound a maximum of 3 times, though there is a chance where it may never rebound at all and just disappear once reaching to said previous room. When it gets close to you, players will hear the same sounds from Doors' A-120, that get loud in random waves. A-60 will not spawn during its attack. It also bounces its eyes and mouth when the distant sound has made a loud drum sound. Note: When you hear its banging and there isn’t a locker, quickly go to the last room that had a locker, since A-120 always spawns behind the door that is in front of the player(s). If you are using deaf mode, the screen shakes a lot to indicate that he is coming and has a blue icon that gets bigger the closer A-120 is.

If A-100 is present during Happy Scribble's attack, it will start screaming one of its audios before dying. This is true for dead players as well.

Happy Scribble will disable A-50 (The Darkness) until its departure. However, this function is removed entirely after A-500.

It is important to note that Happy Scribble is client sided, and every player will get a copy of the entity that attacks their player while ignoring others. This is usually hard to notice as hiding players are usually close to each other, but this can cause desync if they are too far apart.

How to Avoid

When you hear Happy Scribble's loud drumming sound coming from the very next room, immediately search for a locker to hide. Note that it will kill you in tables, so don't try hiding under one. Once you're hiding on a locker, stay in until its ambient sounds fade away. The Darkness won't attack while the Happy Scribble is attacking until a-500, a-120 will temporarily stop attack at a-200. And then it will spawn again at a-500 where The Darkness. Console players have an advantage because their controller rumbles when a-120 does its banging sound.

Past A-500, When Happy Scribble passes by, immediately get out and stay at your hiding spot in case it rebounds. When it does rebound, get back into your hiding spot as soon as you hear it start getting closer, and repeat until it disappears. Console players can counter Happy Scribble easier by paying attention to their controller vibration as it is proximity based. Though, as already mentioned, there are chances where it may never rebound and just disappear. Keep in mind that past A-900, it greatly speeds up.

Other things to keep in mind is that you cannot open the door to the next room so long as Happy Scribble is still attacking.

Note that even before and after A-500, Happy Scribble will kill players under a table or players hide in plain sight. So you can't hide in plain sight on Happy Scribble.

Sometimes, A-90 and even A-90' can appear in the middle of A-120s rebounds. In that case, it will stop moving until all of their attacks have stopped, then resume moving. (May not be true if Paralysis Prime spawns an A-60')

Spawn and Despawn Rule

  1. Scribbles can spawn anytime at A-120 to A-198 and A-500 to A-998, if he spawns, players will hear drumming noise and will have to find a locker to hide in.

Trivia

  • Before A-90, A-100 and A-250 got added, The Darkness used to attack with Happy Scribble on room 150+ onward.
  • The Pride charm will not keep you safe from Happy Scribble or any other Scribbles while under a table, unlike The Multi-monsters.
  • Happy Scribble is directly inspired by A-120 from Doors.
  • Happy Scribble used to be called "Happy Scribble B" in the death screen.
  • Happy Scribble does not change sprites at all, except for when it is jump scaring the player. However, its eyes always spin but may or may not be considered different sprites.
  • You are able to outrun the Happy Scribble while sprinting, however this becomes impossible after A-900 as it greatly speeds up.
  • Happy Scribble is actually a doppelgänger of A-200.
    • Unlike A-200, Happy Scribble will emit footstep sounds, along with distorted radio sounds unlike A-200, which is very silent. Happy Scribble is also glitchier than A-200.
    • Happy Scribble's left eye is also much more covered, appearing as it's missing an eye/damaged eye, while A-200's left eye is completely round like both of their right eye.
  • Ghosts originally were able to help hiding players by allowing the Happy Scribble to rebound off of them, thus making it move away from the hiding players.
    • This has soon been patched.
  • Happy Scribble shakes your screen every time it makes a drumming noise.
  • In the 2M+ visits update, the Happy Scribble now releases light every time it emits its sound.
  • Happy Scribble's death tape is the same as Insidæ's death tape.
  • Happy Scribble’s idle sprite is based on nicorocks5555’s A-200 sprite (face 3). The difference is the texture.
  • Surprisingly, when Happy Scribble, Insidæ, or Insidæ Prime kills a player, the player appears as a dead zombie, with some of the arms and legs being burnt to the bone. This makes the Scribble Family leave one of the scariest corpses, with the second being The Multi-monster and The Multi-monster Prime.
    • The most common theory explaining this is that Happy Scribble has the ability to sense the presence of souls aswell as the ability to rip them off of the player's body. This would also explain why Happy Scribble always knows where you are, aswell as why it kills A-100 instances, most likely confusing them with other players.
  • Happy Scribble’s jumpscare originates from this audio. (LOUD WARNING)
  • Happy Scribble drains HP rapidly when jumpscaring a player, like A-60, but faster.
  • If a different player gets killed by Happy Scribble, other living players will hear some sort of squeaky violin type noise.
  • after the A-60 and A-60', there is a chance that after about 7 seconds an Happy Scribble will appear, which will have about 3 times more speed than a normal one. (unconfirmed)
