It's time to get serious, Stanley. No jokes, no games. Outside of this room, I might be more tolerant of those things, but now we're in the room.

The Serious Room is a room that players get teleported to if they exploit, use cheats or otherwise trigger the anti-cheat mechanism. The room itself is very barren, featuring only concrete walls, a roof light above a table and a single door. There is also a cardboard box in the corner, and a simple rendition of Ambush from DOORS on a notebook paper, with the word "BRUH" graffitied next to it. When players enter this room, text will appear that reads "Please do not use Outside Menus, Cheat, or Exploit. These actions are automatically flagged as game-breaking!"[sic].

Looking at the door gives the player a prompt to "Sneak Out". Interacting with the door a dozen times will teleport the player to where they spawned. After two attempts, it will instead have an option to "Leave the Room", which will cause the screen to go black and kick the player out of the game.

The player will hear a narrator scolding them, referring to them as "Stanley" and accusing them of activating "server cheats" (despite that, unlike the Source Engine, it is not possible to enable "server cheats" in Roblox). The narrator explains to the player the consequences of exploiting and cheating. In an attempt to be more serious to the player, he points out that the table inside of the room was specifically chosen because it "is the most serious table [he] could find". Attempting to leave the room will make the narrator scold the player even further, explaining that he went through thousands of tables to find the right one. Attempting to leave again will make the narrator question the seriousness of The Serious Room.

If the player has not left the game after a specific amount of time, they will automatically be kicked with a message reading either "bruh" or "do not the exploit pls :D". Afterwards, they will return to the main menu.

Trivia[]

  • The Serious Room comes from The Stanley Parable's (and its standalone expansion's) "Serious Room".
    • The voice for the narrator also stems from said game(s).
    • The cardboard box featured in The Serious Room in both Rooms & Doors and The Stanley Parable is from the Valve game Half-Life 2, the engine of which The Stanley Parable also runs on. The Stanley Parable also used to be a mod for Half-Life 2.
  • The drawing of Ambush with the word "BRUH" graffitied next to it is a reference to DOORS' anti-cheat system, which, when triggered, will cause Ambush to jumpscare the player and make Guiding Light continuously say nothing but "bruh" to the exploiter for a while before stating that Ambush has apparently killed them infinite times, causing the exploiter to lose 100 revives.
  • The Serious Room used to have a different message, saying: "Please Refrain from Exploiting, or Using Third Party Menus"[sic]
    • This alternate message can be found here.
  • On rare occasions, players may be sent to The Serious Room without exploiting.
    • One surefire (and likely unintended) way to enter The Serious Room is to open the first door and afterwards to go into the menu and click on any textbox, such as the one for the camera sensitivity or for giving details on a person to report.
  • There used to be a side effect after leaving the serious room, which caused your avatar to look like the infamous "boykisser" for 24 hours.
  • You can be sent here when you type a text in something that's not the chat. An example is the Micro Profiler.
